As a lover of weird critters, I was ecstatic to pitch and create this explainer video about the Texas blind salamander, an endangered species that can only be found in a tiny stretch of caves beneath San Marcos, TX.

Style Frames
With a mix of historical documents, interviews, and creatures to showcase, a mixed media approach was necessary for this video from the start. I wanted the style to be reminiscent of a science textbook or naturalist’s journal, with a mish mash of photography, textures, and line illustration.
